  • I would recommend Vernon God Little by DBC Pierre, and The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen - both excellent.

    If you really want something to get your teeth into, try Atomised by Michel Houellebecq, or perhaps some poetry from Charles Bukowski.

    Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett might be quite fun....
